Revelers gathered Saturday for KATY NINER APPRECIATION DAY, in honor of Katy’s years of inspired arts writing and editing and her all-around fabulousness. Gourmet burgers by Kevin Huelsmann and Amanda Flosbach, Niner wine, and elegant cupcakes were gobbled in good order.
Various artists contributed gifts and installations for Katy, including a VHS tape scarf by Suzanne Morlock, a painting by Camille Davis, a video by Hole Dance Films of Jackson arts folks dancing to James Brown , a poster by Kathryn Turner, and on-site drawings-on-clothing by Mark Dunstan, Ben Carlson, Lisa Miller, Emily Paul, Owen Ashley, Heidi Ramseur, Lucy and Nona Yehia, Brett and Carrie Richer, Kate and Todd Kosharek, Carrie Geraci, Ben Roth, John Frechette and Christian Burch, Thomas Macker, Candra Day, Odin and Bronwyn Minton, and many others!

Carrie Geraci installed a chalkboard with the words “I just left my job, what are you doing?” Victor Pokorny of Rotating Superstructure fame kept the crowd singing and dancing till the wee hours. A brilliant time was had by all, and the party was dubbed by many as BEST PARTY EVER.
